A Fountain officer is recovering from his injuries after a chase early Tuesday involving 3 teenagers.
It started around 3:30 a.m. when authorities pulled over a vehicle at Comanche Village and Santa Fe for driving without headlights on.
After police approached the car the driver sped up and maneuvered the vehicle on the shoulder to avoid law enforcement.
Next, the driver drove toward an officer who jumped out of the way and a chase ensued north of Highway 85.
State patrol disabled the vehicle near Widefield Community Center.
The teens initially ran but were caught by authorities and taken into custody.
Police say all three suspects have a criminal history.
One officer suffered serious injuries.
