El Paso County is testing water from 6 local bodies of water for dangerous Blue-Green algae.
Samples are being examined by the state health department.
So far, the algae is confirmed in Prospect Lake and Pikeview Reservoir.
People and pets are not allowed to swim there over a risk of developing a potentially deadly bacterial infection.
Water testing can take several days.
County Parks staff is hoping to receive the results later this week.
