Single-family home prices in Colorado Springs rose by 8% from the second quarter of last year.
That makes it the fifth highest growth rate in the nation.
The increase in local home values has been fueled by a surging economy and consumer confidence.
However, rising prices are making it harder for first-time buyers to get a home.
A lack of available housing has also contributed to price increases.
Boise City, Idaho, ranked number one in the nation with a 13% increase.
Nationwide, prices were up 5 percent.
