A Colorado Springs group is trying to persuade voters not to extend Colorado Springs’ road maintenance sales tax.
Springstaxpayers.com is currently running ads encouraging voters to vote no on the 2C tax that was first approved four years ago.
Posts to the group’s website claim the money raised by the tax has not been dedicated to the city’s promise of filling potholes and providing better roads for drivers.
Currently the tax will remain in place until the end of 2020.
Voters will decide whether to extend the tax to the end of 2025.
Ballots have been mailed to residents and need to be returned by 7pm November 5th to be counted.
