Will Perkins, longtime automobile dealer and activist, passed away at the age of 91 on Saturday.
He was known for his work in the religious community and headed the group Colorado for Family Values.
His group saw the passage of Amendment 2 in 1992.
The Amendment banned laws that protected gays from discrimination.
The law was later overturned in 1996 by the United States Supreme Court.
