A man is facing charges after allegedly starting a fire at a senior center and then attacking a Colorado Springs Police Officer.
Investigators say the suspect, 41-year-old Javier Abeyta, set an intentional fire at the Acacia Senior Center on East Platte Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
An officer was hit while trying to apprehend Abeyta and a taser was used to subdue him and take him into custody.
He faces charges of arson, resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer.
