Colorado Springs Utilities plans to join an agreement with several other power companies to help buy and sell energy.
The city utility will join with Black Hills Colorado, Xcel Energy and the Platte River Power Authority to make it easier to buy excess energy when needed and sell electricity to other providers when available.
This is in hopes to lower energy costs for customers through the agreement.
CSU is set to join the group in March.
