Springs Police Release Names of 2 Officers Involved in Shooting

Colorado Springs Police released the names of the two officers involved in a shooting at Arrowanna and Galley on the southeast side of the city on Saturday.

Officer Christina Mattox and officer Beau Becker are both assigned to the Sand Creek Division.

Authorities say just before midnight, 35-year-old Randy Bishop was pulled over for expired plates when he allegedly shot at the officers, they returned fire. Officer Becker was injured but has been released from the hospital.

Bishop then drove away from the scene and crashed near Pikes Peak Avenue and Dunsmere Street then fled on foot.

Bishop is also wanted after he escaped Memorial Hospital while in custody and took off with an officer’s gun in December 2019.
