AFA Relaxes Restrictions Following Deaths

Air Force Academy officials are going to relax restrictions following the deaths of 2 seniors Thursday and Saturday of last week at the Academy. Because of the Coronavirus the school had dismissed freshman, sophomores and juniors for the rest of the year, but kept seniors at the school because they were so close to graduation. The seniors were spread out among the schools dorms to limit contact with one another in accordance with social distancing guidlines. There is no official word but sources say the 2 deaths were both suicides. Top AF Officials including Chief of Staff David Goldfien flew into the Springs Monday to talk to the cadets. School leaders now say the seniors will be allowed off campus to get food, and can also dress casually on Fridays. An earlier order that would have had cadets who are not social distancing to “March” has been rescinded.
