A 42-year old man is in jail after a standoff in Security Sunday. Thomas Flores is facing numerous charges including two counts of attempted murder of a peace office after he violated a restraining order and barricaded himself inside a home near Main Street and Esther Drive. A woman and her children were able to get out of the home safely. Sheriff’s deputies were contacted just before 11:00 a.m. A tactical unit was called in just after 2:30 p.m. and Flores was taken into custody after he tried to assault deputies. He’s currently booked into the El Paso County jail.
