Members of the Colorado Springs City Council are expressing support for an initiative that could make it more difficult to sell or trade city park land. During a discussion Monday, a majority of the council said they would support putting the “Protect Our Parks”measure before the voters in November. The measure would require six members of the city council to vote in favor of most sales or transfers of the land to a private owner. The proposed sale or trade would then have to be approved by voters. Council members said the proposal will only be on the ballot if there is at least one other initiative that needs approval from voters in November.
