Roughly 30-aircraft taking to the skies to benefit Coloradans impacted by Covid-19

COLORADO – A very cool event is taking place on Thursday, but you’re going to have to make a trek up north to see it. An aerial parade of more than 30-different kinds of aircraft are taking to the skies as part of a fundraising effort for the “Colorado COVID Relief Fund,” known as “Help Colorado Now.”

The pilots are all donating their time and fuel for the “Flyover Fundraising Parade and Aerial Salute” to essential workers.

The aircraft are flying out of Rocky Mountain Metro Airport in Broomfield and they’ll fly between Longmont to the north and Castle Rock to the south. If you feel like driving through the Gap Project on I-25 and heading up to Castle Rock, the flyover is taking place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of everything from prop planes and small jets to Warbirds. All of them are expected to fly in formation and they’re being organized by speed.

Here’s a timeline and the flight path for the flyover:

11:30 a.m. & 11:50 a.m. – Lutheran Medical Center

11:35 a.m. & 11:55 a.m. – Denver Federal Center near 6th & Kipling
