Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers is commending protesters in the city for holding mostly peaceful demonstrations over the weekend. He says the vast majority of Saturday’s crowd protesting police brutality following the death of George Floyd was well-behaved and properly exercised their first amendment rights. He also said police used appropriate force during Saturday’s more violent protest near the police operations center.
