FOUNTAIN – The El Paso County Coroner’s Office is identifying a 12-year-old Fountain girl found dead on July 22nd. Police were called to a home in the 6800 block of Kasson Drive and found Miana Jones with a gunshot wound to her face. A neighbor and first responders attempted to save the child’s life, but those efforts failed.
The shooting is thought to be accidental, but authorities say they are still looking into exactly what happened. Details surrounding the shooting have not been made public.
