TELLER COUNTY – The man accused of beating two dogs to death and dismembering them is finally in jail after a week-long manhunt. 30-year old Matthew Dierenger from Pueblo was located by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in a motel in the Centennial area on Sunday night.

Dierenger is being held in the Arapahoe County’s detention facility on a 10-thousand dollar cash bond and he’s expected to be transferred to Teller County.

Teller County authorities say on July 21st, Dierenger allegedly beat to death a 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog named “Suka,” and to have also killed and dismembered “Hayoka.” He’s facing two counts of Felony Aggravated Animal Abuse.
