Rate increase coming for Colorado Springs Utilities customers

COLORADO SPRINGS – Get ready to shell out a few more bucks for your utility bill. Colorado Springs Utilities customers will see an increase in costs starting August 1st. The Colorado Springs city council approved the rate increase Tuesday.

The increase adds an average of three-dollars and 28-cents to residential bills. Commercial customers will see an average increase of about 71-dollars per month. CSU requested the rate adjustment due to recent increases in the cost of fuel.
