MANITOU SPRINGS – The Manitou Springs city council plans to discuss the possibility of reopening the Manitou Incline during a meeting Tuesday night. The plan being suggested would create a free reservation system to limit the number of people on the incline to 30-during each 30-minute window.
After a couple of weeks, that number could be increased to 45 people every 30-minutes after two weeks. The idea has been presented to Manitou’s city council before and some of the members said they’d rather just see the Incline closed. They say they have concerns about parking issues.
If the plan is approved tonight, it still has to be sent back to the City of Colorado Springs for consideration and then possible approval. The incline has been closed since the Covid-19 outbreak began in March.
