COLORADO SPRINGS – If you have plans to head out and get some hiking in, a couple of projects may hang up your Tuesday outing. Part of Gold Camp Road is closed until 2:00 p.m. today for gate installation. The road is closed between pull-off number five to Captain Jack’s parking lot. The gate is being installed on the northern boundary of North Cheyenne Cañon Park as part of the master plan. The park itself is open to the public.
If you’re looking to head up the Catamount Trail, you may want to rethink that. Colorado Springs Utilities is working on a water tank next to the trailhead in Green Mountain Falls. The trailhead closes today for about a month. You can still access the trail from Belvedere Avenue, but hikers are being advised to avoid the trail while maintenance work is taking place.
