A manhunt is underway for an unknown suspect who exchanged gunfire with officers early Thursday morning, The Colorado Springs Police Department says officers were called to Pikeview Reservoir off Mark Dabling about a man firing a gun into the water. When officers tried to speak to the man, shots were exchanged. Three CSPD fired shots.
No officers were injured, but they aren’t sure if the suspect was hurt. The only description available about the man is that he’s heavy-set. Because officers returned fire, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is now leading the investigation as an offiver involved shooting.
Mark Dabling Boulevard is closed between Garden of the Gods Road and Fillmore Street.Plan on taking an alternate route.
