After an extensive manhunt-shooting suspect arrested in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS – a 48-year old man is in custody after a shooting involving three Colorado Springs police officers. Police were called about someone firing a weapon into the water at the Pikeview Reservoir on Mark Dabling Blvd. south of Garden of the Gods Rd. at about 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday night.

When officers arrived, shots were exchanged between Christopher Wilson and the police. None of the officers were injured and it’s still unknown if the suspect was hurt in the shooting. Wilson ran away from the area and investigators spent the entire day Thursday searching for the man.

Because the officers fired their weapons at Wilson, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation into what is considered to be an officer-involved shooting. The Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday night that they’d located Wilson and that he was placed under arrest. Authorities say he’ll be taken to the El Paso County Jail once he’s medically cleared.

He’s facing numerous charges:

Attempted First Degree Murder of a Peace Office – three counts

Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender

Illegal Discharge of a Firearm

Prohibited Use of a Weapon

Reckless Endangerment
