Colorado man back in jail after four decades on the run

DENVER – A 77-year old man who’s been on the run for over 40-years is finally back in jail here in Colorado. The former Colorado resident has been wanted by the FBI since 1977 after he escaped from a Colorado Department of Corrections facility in 1974.

Luis Archuleta (aka Larry Pusateri), was serving a prison sentence for a 1973 conviction for shooting a Denver Police officer at 44th and Mariposa in Denver.

It turns out that Archuleta was living in Española, New Mexico for the last four decades, using the assumed name Ramon Montoya. He was arrested on August 5th.
