Texas semi driver killed in southern Colorado crash

COLORADO CITY – A semi driver is in the hospital with serious injuries after he failed to negotiate a curve on northbound I-25 south of Colorado City at about 6:30 lp.m. Sunday night. The truck reportedly hit the guardrail and then the driver over-corrected.

The driver was thrown from the cab of the truck and died. The contents of the trailer were thrown all over the interstate.  After several hours, the interstate was cleaned up and reopened. The driver has not been identified yet.

The Colorado State Patrol doesn’t believe alcohol or speed were issues in the crash.
