The Pine Gulch Fire continues to grow in size. Overnight the blaze grew by over 37 thousand acres, and Wednesday morning it was measured at just over 125 thousand acres. The Pine Gulch Fire is now the 2nd largest fire in the history of Colorado, only behind the Haymen Fire. Winds are pushing the fire in a northwest direction. More than 900 fireifghters are struggling to build a perimeter. The Western Slope remains hot and dry, and weather forecasters say 50 mph winds are expected in the area today. The blaze was started by lightning.
