((Pine Gulch Fire)

Weather conditions are helping the roughly 900-firefighters battling the Pine Gulch Fire north of Grand Junction. The fire has burned through136,000 acres since the fire began back on July 31st. Firefighters have now gained 47% containment of the blaze. It’s only about 2,000 acres away from becoming the largest wildfire in state history.
(Grizzly Creek Fire)
Firefighters are making ground on the Grizzly Creek Fire near Glenwood Springs. Crews have gained about 61% containment and Wednesday’s rainfall helped out considerably. There were even concerns about flash flooding in the area. Fire has torn through over 32,000 acres since it first started on August 10th. Crews even took time to show off some of the technology firefighters are using. The fire closed down I-70 for two weeks and it reopened on Monday under restrictions. Containment in the Cameron Peak Fire is not coming easily. The fire in western Larimer County has burned almost 23,000 acres at zero-containment. The fire is burning near Chamber Lake, not far from Rocky Mountain National Park.
