More now on the young boy who was seen with a toy gun during a virtual class last week. Two 12 year olds were suspended after being seen with the toy gun during virtual classes through Grand Mountain School in Widefield School District 3. The El Paso County Sheriffs office sent a school resource officer to the home to make sure the gun was only a toy. The teacher had seen the gun but wasn’t sure if it was real. She contacted the school principle who alerted authorities. Dani Elliots son Isaiah was one of the children. He said he was just moving the toy from one side to another. His mother felt the Sheriffs office should have never been involved. The department released body cam footage Thursday and said the department has to respond to these types of incidents. No one was arrested. Elliot has removed her son from that school.
