PUEBLO COUNTY – An investigation into a woman’s death continues Monday morning after her body was found in a field off Highway 50 east of Avondale. her identity is not being released right now while the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office works to contact her next-of-kin.
The sheriff’s office responded to the property in the 54000 block of East Highway 50 at about 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Deputies say there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body and an autopsy is being conducted to determine the woman’s cause of death.
Authorities say they believe the victim lived in Pueblo. She’s believed to be in her 40’s and described as being 5’5″ tall and weighing 120 pounds with red hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (719) 583-6250 or Crime Stoppers at (719) 542-7867.
