Two men are facing numerous charges for August shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS – Two men are in jail facing numerous charges for a shooting that happened over the summer. On August 23rd, at about 1:45 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was contacted about a shooting in the 20000 block of Longhorn Point in unincorporated El Paso County. The property is close to the Pikes Peak International Raceway.

When deputies arrived, they found several people suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were all adults and they were taken to area hospitals. Other victims turned up in a hospital in Pueblo. After a months-long investigation, Alejandro Barcelo and Jontrell Lockett were arrested for their involvement in this case.

Barcelo was arrested on the following charges:

– Criminal Attempt to Commit Second Degree Murder (4 Counts)

– Assault in the First Degree (4 Counts)

– Illegal discharge of a firearm (4 Counts)

– Prohibited Use of a Weapon (4 Counts)

Lockett was arrested on the following charges:

– Assault in the First Degree (1 Count)

– Illegal discharge of a firearm (1 Count)

– Prohibited Use of a Weapon (1Count)

The sheriff’s office says they were assisted by the Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force, Fountain Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, and the Pueblo Police Department, in the investigation.
