Michael Hughes is accused of shooting at a group of officers near the Venetucci Walmart Wednesday night.

A man is under arrest after allegedly shooting at Fountain Police Officers Wednesday night. It happened at a parking lot off Venetucci near the Walmart in southwest Colorado Springs. Investigators say three officers were standing outside of Mod Pizza when a black truck drove by, and a suspect fired shots in their direction. Military police stopped the suspects as they pulled onto Fort Carson. Twenty-One-Year-old driver Michael Hughes is under arrest on three counts of felony first-degree assault on a peace officer. Charges against the other occupants of the truck are expected. Information on how many people were involved isn’t released at this time. No officers were injured.
