Avalanche danger high

Heavy snow over the last week in the Colorado mountains have caused several avalanches which have led to 3 deaths. The bodies of 2 people were recovered Sunday north of Silverton by the San Juan County Sheriffs Office. They had gone skiing Saturday but had not returned. The deceased have not been identified. A 3rd skier died Friday west of Crested Butte according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. Authorities say dangerous conditions are present because of unstable snow in the high country.
