Tuesday morning Fort Carson officials began giving Covid-19 Moderna vaccine shots to emergency service staff and healthcare workers. Once that group has been vaccinated the mountain post will then focus on patients at Evans Army Hospital. The state was expected to receive more than 95 thousand doses in its first shipment of the Moderna vaccine which was approved for use last week by the Food and Drug Administration. Other military installations around El Paso County should soon be receiving either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.
