The U.S Space Command is leaving Colorado Springs for a permanent home at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Colorado Springs was one of six finalists competing to make the space command home and is currently the provisional headquarters. Officials say the move won’t happen for a few years. Meanwhile, Governor Jared Polis and Mayor John Suthers are objecting. In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the mayor says he’s concerned politics played a role in the decision. The city and chamber are requesting documents showing Colorado Springs was a favored location be released.
