COLORADO – The latest adjustment to Coronavirus immunization priorities means Coloradans age 60 to 64, with two or more chronic health conditions, grocery store employees, and manufacturing workers will be eligible for vaccinations on March 5th.
Governor Jared Polis says they’re trying to make people get it within a few weeks of when they’re eligible. Nearly a million people are in this phase of the program and you can make your appointment at hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.
Meanwhile, nearly 4 million doses of Johnson and Johnson’s new Covid-19 vaccine began shipping out last night. Some states can start using it as early as Tuesday. The company plans on delivering another 16-million more doses by the end of March and 100-million by the end of June.
The vaccine is roughly 70-percent effective against the virus, that’s a lower percentage rate than Pfizer or Moderna, but it only requires only one dose and it appears to be more effective against the Covid-19 variants. Colorado is expecting over 45-thousand doses to be delivered.
