Bill Churchill has resigned as the Chief of Police of the Manitou Springs Police Department. Churchill met with city leaders in an executive session Tuesday evening and tendered his resignation. Churchill had been put on administrative leave by the city January 21st. At the time city leaders would not say what prompted the move. It was not disclosed publicly Tuesday evening if there was any new information developed that would have led Churchill to resign. The city said there would be no further announcements regarding the matter.
