Amazon to expand in Colorado Springs

By Nia Bender

COLORADO SPRINGS – Amazon bought a former manufacturing plant in northwest Colorado Springs in order to build a delivery station in the city. The purchase of the former Western Forge plant on Forge Rd. off Garden of the Gods Rd. was completed last week at a cost of just over nine million dollars.

Plans submitted to the city last year indicate the building on the site is going to be torn down and then replaced with a warehouse and distribution facility.  The company already operates a similar delivery station near the Colorado Springs airport.
