Academy District 20 is headed back to in-person classes, but they say they aren’t requiring masks currently – only encouraging students and staff to wear them. In a letter to parents, D-20 says that instead of mandating masks, officials hope students and staff will wash their hands and social distance whenever possible. District officials say that there will be no large in-person events, such as assemblies, any time soon. D-20 says it’s also anticipating a staffing shortage in coming months, due to the surging numbers.
