Summit County officials say that the two people killed this weekend after being caught in an avalanche are from Colorado Springs. Officials say the two snowshoers were 25-year-old Hannah Nash and 35-year-old Drake Oversen. The Summit County Coroner’s Office says they died of blunt force trauma and asphyxiation. The snowshoers headed out into an area around Hoosier Pass, on Saturday and when they didn’t return, Summit Officials launched a rescue operation. The Colorado Avalanche Information Center says that the snowslide was about 10 feet deep, 400 feet wide and over 200 vertical feet long.
