Wildfire closes state wildlife area

In KVOR’s Wildfire Watch the Lake Dorothy State Wildlife area is closed because of a fire that started Sunday. The Schwachheim Fire has now consumed 644 acres with 0% containment. Its burning southeast of Trinidad close to the Colorado-New Mexico state line. Colorado Governor Jared Polis has declared a disaster emergency to free up state resources to battle the blaze.
