COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A 26-year-old veteran has been standing guard over the American Flag outside Colorado Springs City Hall.

The flag replaced one that was ripped down and burned earlier this week.

When Travis Weston heard the news on Tuesday, he drove from Denver to begin his watch.

Springs police say a camera was rolling at the time of the crime, but investigators have no leads on a suspect.

Weston and a group of servicemen received an outpouring of community support.

Weston said he will be in front of City Hall for at least the rest of the week.
