COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Accused Planned Parenthood gunman Robert Dear tells The Gazette he’s innocent of most of the charges against him. This is a reversal from his earlier confession to killing three and wounding nine in the November attack.
Dear says prosecutors went “way overboard” by charging him with 179 counts. Dear says he’s mentally fit to stand trial, despite his past claims that state health evaluators found him incompetent.
Dear will return to court next month.
