EL PASO COUNTY, CO – A man, suspected in the murder of a retired Colorado Springs firefighter, is due in court today.
Gustavo Gonzalez was arrested Sunday for the shooting death of Daryl Ritz. The victim’s body was found at a property off Judge Orr Road in Falcon.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking to talk to anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area on the night of May 16th. Ritz’s cell phone was stolen during the murder, and could be near Black Forest and Shoup Roads. If you found an iPhone 6 in that area, notify the sheriff’s office.
Gonzalez has prior arrests for weapons charges and falsifying United States identification documents.
