The Colorado Department of Transportation is requesting 65 million dollars from the federal government for road repairs following several days of rain and flooding last week in southwestern Colorado. If approved that money would come from the Federal Highway Administration’s Emergency Relief Program. Governor Jared Polis also said CDOT is asking for 10% of that amount immediately as part of the program’s quick release process so road crews can begin work right away. Highway 160 is open but with alternating traffic while Highway 151 south of Highway 160, through Chimney Rock remains closed.
