The Gazette is reporting a man who was convicted of murder in a Colorado Springs robbery 9 years ago wants his conviction overturned. Eric Grant was found guilty of killing auto shop owner George Maldonado Jr during a robbery at “Full Throttle Auto Service.” The Gazette says surveillance video shows 2 people at the scene of the murder. They used that video and cell phone evidence to show Clark was in the area the night of the murder. Clark says the man in the video is not him and accuses the prosecution of making up a story about running from the law. During the trial police revealed Clark was arrested in Philadelphia and a detective on the case reportedly testified to hearing Clark say, I’m on the run from Colorado, and you think I’m going to have identification? I want as little contact with you guys as possible. Grant and a second man Derrick Davis were found guilty of first degree murder in the case.
