
FREMONT COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued an Air Quality Healthy Advisory for Fremont County.
The affected areas include Canon City, Cotopaxi, Coaldale, Texas Creek and Howard.
The advisory will stay in effect until 9:00 a.m. Monday morning, but it could be extended.
Health officials are recommending that people with respiratory issues limit outdoor activity. If visibility is less than 5 miles smoke has reached unhealthy levels and health officials recommend leaving the area immediately.
In addition an Ozone Action Day Alert is also in effect until 4:00 p.m. Monday in Colorado Springs. Again, those with respiratory issues should limit outdoor activity.
