COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Construction begins this fall to improve an area between Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City called ‘No Man’s Land’.

The Gazette reports, the project will change Manitou Avenue into a three-lane street with a dedicated turn lane, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, new landscaping and improved lighting.

The plan also involves rerouting about 1,000 feet of Fountain Creek to better accommodate high water flows.

The cost is about $27 million. Work should be complete by the end of 2018.
