PUEBLO COUNTY, CO – The entire Beulah Valley is under evacuation orders because of a 3,000 acre wildfire.

Sheriff Kirk Taylor said he needed to take advantage of nighttime conditions to move people to safety while the routes are clear and the manpower is available.

The fire could spread more this morning, as high winds are expected.

1,950 residents have been asked to evacuate. It’s unknown how many have left their homes. Evacuees are being housed at the Colorado State Fairgrounds and Roncalli STEM Academy. No injuries were reported.

Fire officials ordered evacuations along 3R Road, Waterbarrel Road, Signal Mountain, Hurricane Ranch, the Mountain Shadows Mobile Home Park and along Pine Drive. Highway 78 is closed at 3R Road. Pleasant View Middle School students will not have school today.

There is no word on the cause of the fire.
