COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – More members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office now have new tactical gear, thanks to the group “Shield 616.”

Helmets, protective vests, and other equipment, were donated Monday night.

Each kit costs $1,400.

Shield 616 was able to raise enough money from local donors to outfit half of the county deputies.

Among the recipients was Deputy Scott Stone, who is still recovering from a February shootout that claimed the life of Detective Micah Flick.
