COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A suspect is dead after an officer involved shooting early this morning near 19th and Yampa on the west side of Colorado Springs.
Police responded to a burglary call, there was an exchange of gunfire.
The suspect was shot and pronounced dead at the hospital.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the officer’s role in the shooting.
Streets in the area are expected to be closed for four to six hours.
