Palmer Lake has announced emergency stage 2 water restrictions. The board of trustees declared the water emergency due to equipment failure.
The town no longer has the ability to pump one of its two wells due to the loss of one of its pumps.
No public water in the town can be used. Irrigation of landscaped areas is prohibited, the use of water to wash any vehicle is not allowed and outdoor pools cannot be filled.
Repairs could take anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks. Dogs are also banned from the reservoir trail. Anyone caught with a dog on reservoir trail will face a $800 fine.
