An update from Colorado Springs Police on the condition of Officer Cem Duzel, who was shot yesterday morning near Boulder and Union after responding to a shots fired call.
He remains in critical condition, but did have some movement overnight. No other details have been released.
There will be a vigil this Friday evening for Duzel at 7:45pm in Boulder Park.
We are learning more about 31 year old Karrar Nomann El Khammasi, the man accused of shooting Duzel Thursday morning.
He has a criminal record that includes DUI and trespassing from 2013 and a misdemeanor assault from 2017.
He was shot by police and has non-life threatening injuries. He is to appear in court Friday afternoon. No word yet on a motive for the shooting.
