Higher Cost to Repair Colorado Springs Airport

Repairing damage from a fire at the Colorado Springs Airport in April will cost millions more than anticipated.

Roofers were using propane torches to fix hail and wind damage when they set off a three-alarm fire that forced the temporary closure of the airport.

The Gazette reports that repairs were estimated at $5 million then, but that cost has been revised to $7.5 million because of previously unknown damage.

The extra money will be paid by insurance claims.
